Shrimp

Ornamental shrimps make a colorful and interesting addition to a reef aquarium. Many shrimps are cleaners and will remove and eat parasites and dead skin from fishes in the aquarium. They will also scavenge the rocks and substrate for meaty bits. Iodine levels should be maintained, which aids in molting. Since shrimps have an exoskeleton, they have to molt (shed their hard outer shell) in order to grow. After they become acclimated to the aquarium shrimps will come out and get their share during feeding.
